Maker Faire is an exhibition event created by Make magazine showcasing arts, crafts, engineering, science, and technology. Originally launched in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006, it has since spread to over 190 different locations around the world, including Kansas City, MO. Maker Faire brings together educators, hobbyists, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors for presentations, workshops, and lectures. Attendees get the chance to see and learn about topics like robots, virtual reality equipment, sculptures, urban farming, homemade clothes, cartoons, and cakes. The event is family friendly with over 1.58 million attending around the world in 2017.
