Additional Information

"The Truman Show" is a film starring Jim Carrey that was released in 1998. The film centers around Jim Carrey's character, Truman Burbank, a man whose life from infancy unbeknownst to him, has been simulated and every moment made into a show for millions of viewers. Once he discovers that his reality is fabricated and those he loves are a cast of characters, he decides to escape the studio world he has been in his whole life.

Buttons like this one were handed out among promotional materials at theaters when the film was released to garner sympathy for Truman. Similarly surrounding the film's release other materials were released by Paramount Pictures, including an essay and website specifically created to induce a heightened sense of support for liberating Truman from the counterfeit reality he had been trapped in.
